The final response to the 25 Year Environment Plan progress report document, published in October 2020, sets out the NCC’s natural capital asset-based framework for assessing progress against the 25 Year Environment Plan.
It shows how to apply this framework to independently scrutinise progress, laying the foundation for the Office for Environmental Protection to undertake this role from 2021.
This report also highlights the priority areas the government should focus on to turnaround declines in our natural assets.
The interim response and advice on a green economic recovery document, published in July 2020, sets out the NCC’s interim assessment of the government’s second 25 Year Environment Plan Progress Report. This paper also presents the NCC’s recommendations to government for delivering a green economic recovery.
