Government has announced some changes to the Bathing Water Regulations. The written ministerial statement can be found here: Written statements - Written questions, answers and statements - UK Parliament
OEP Chief Executive Natalie Prosser said: “We welcome the changes to bathing water regulations as outlined by Minister Hardy in her statement, which reflect a number of the recommendations we made in our own report on them.
“We found that while the regulatory regime in place was largely being followed, it needed updating in order better reflect the changing ways in which society uses rivers, lakes and coastal waters for leisure. While we made a number of other recommendations that we think would help ensure the regulations best protect the public, the reforms now set out will go a long way to bringing the regulations up to date.”
