Duty to Co-operate
The Environment Act places a duty on public authorities to co-operate with the OEP in connection with the exercise of our functions. We have produced this guide to explain more.
OEP complaints guidance for public authorities
Part of our role involves receiving complaints from members of the public regarding alleged failures of environmental law by public authorities. The OEP can use the information from these complaints to commence investigations and enforce against public authorities when appropriate.
